Day 22. Sunburnt in France.

This morning we packed up our stuff and walked to our next hostel in Nice, France. It was only about 15 minutes away from where we stayed last night.

The new hostel is right by the beach, Old Town and the Castel…if you’re familiar with Nice at all.

We dropped off our things and wandered around the streets of Old Town. We found an awesome market selling all kinds of food, flowers and homemade items.

We were going to walk up the castle, but when we stepped out of the market the bright blue ocean was too hard to resist.

The beach in Nice is all pebbles, not sand. So it’s not the easiest to walk on in bare feet! We thought it was going to be super uncomfortable to lay on, but it wasn’t too bad.

We sunbathed and swam in the ocean for a couple of hours. Around 2pm we decided to walk up the castle gardens to check out the views over the city.

After that we strolled along the beachfront. We stopped for a couple glasses of wine at a beachside bar looking out on to the ocean. We sat there for a while…and got very sunburnt…whoops.

It’s so nice to spend this last week on the beach soaking up the sun, it’s so relaxing We didn’t plan it on purpose, but it’s ideal that we explored all the big cities of Europe first, then hit up the south of France and Spain in our last week.

We ate dinner in the small streets of Old Town, then headed back to the hostel.

Tomorrow we are getting the bus to Monaco, which will be amazing. But, must remember to buy some sun cream!!

Chat tomorrow,

Hannah x
