Wednesday 6th of May 2015 was officially my last night staying in the dorms at the University of Massachusetts. From here on out I will be living in my own house, with my housemates, paying my own rent, with my own responsibilities!
To mark this special occasion, it only seemed right that myself and my two friends, Emily and Katie, woke up at 4:30am to hike Mount Sugarloaf so we could watch the sun rise.
The night before we prepared for our mini-mission, we gathered a range of food, drink and snacks so we could eat breakfast at the top of the mountain.
After a very steep, but short, climb to the top we set out our blankets, made our bagels, ate cold pizza, played music through my speakers and watched the sun rise over the mountains and the Connecticut River.
It was stunning, and by far the best way I’ve started any day. Having very little sleep and waking up at 4:30am was so worth it for the beautiful views and of course, the memories made with my friends.
Get outside and do more of what makes YOU happy. Be grateful for your surroundings, family, friends and opportunities because you are blessed, you may not realize it now, but be thankful…every day.
Here are some of my favorite photos I took during the morning, all taken on an iPhone 6.
